cablecarsam: I would venture a guess that the reason Dennis was looking "ashen gray and just not into it anymore", as you say, was because he was quietly battling prostate cancer the last few months.

I caught the life-n-times of Dennis Richmond montage at the end of last night's broadcast and totally dug seeing DR with his 70s-solid black power natural afro getting bigger & bigger in a series of photos. Totally righteous. DR was not one to pander & try to tug your crusty heartstrings. I don't think I ever saw him crack a smile and it was kinda sad to see him lookin weepy last night. (Hanky nose blow.) I hope he's not retiring because he is ill (re: cablecar's post.) Cheers ~~~gogo

It might be Julie Hayner that has turned me off to KTVU, but it just isn't the same. Don't think Dennis was happy towards the end and always looked ashen gray and just not into it anymore. It's geritol time!
