RinconHillSF:

It definitely wasn't the printer or delivery person. I thought that at first, but then I noticed the tag at the bottom of The Beatitudes page. It reads:

"Paid for by a concerned Christian. P.O. Box 101 Nipomo, CA 93444"

What creeps me out is that this person went to the trouble, not to mention the expense, to have these printed and included in our papers, and they don't even LIVE here. It just smacks of some Bible-thumping fanatic deciding they're going to save all us "sinners" here in SF. Yuck. I dunno, that's just my take on it, but I'm a Catholic school survivor, so the chip on my shoulder when it comes to shit like this is pretty damn big.

I'm on the Wednesday through Sunday paper delivery plan ... maybe it was a one-off insert by the printer or delivery person? Or maybe it was someone with lots of money to burn.

I've been handed copies of the Jehovah Witness magazine by a Muni bus driver - Watch Tower or something like that? I think the front page article was about getting in shape. Gee, thanks ... a lot.

Seriously, there is nothing too bad in the ten commandments, don't steal, don't shag your neighbors wife, don't kill,(hmm death penalty supporters), ok, keep holy the sabbath, but that to me is take a day off. Now I did not read the beatitudes,

that is not cheap...if it went out in all the editions and not just the city, that is pretty darn expensive...not to mention the printing, etc.

frankly if someone is willing to do something like this I say let 'em...we are allegedly the city of openness and tolerance...if just a percentage of the murderers who are helping our murder rate take that whole "Thou shalt not kill" then hey, it's more than anything the City is doing.

"Nothing like having religion shoved down your throat at 6:30 in the morning."

Yeah, I HATE it when the Chron has an article about RECYCLING on the front page.
