You must have missed the part where I said the MBA doesn't mean she's a genius. Conversely, a Stanford MBA is apparently no accomplishment whatsoever...easily gotten through the batting of one's Barbie-doll lashes and a calculated flip of some plastic blonde hair. Right? So OK, fine, whatever--you're pretty clearly set in this weird "Veronica Sawyer vs. the Heathers" fantasy you've got going here. It just seems rather petty and more than a little pathetic. Making fun of someone is good sport, sure; it just always comes off so bitter and nasty here, though. This isn't about Newsom's poltics, y'know?

Yeah, but as far as I know, outside an ill-advised comment on SFist almost two years ago, she isn't trying to say anything. At any rate, I'm pretty sure you need more than looks to get an MBA at Stanford. I'm not saying she's a genius here, and I'm not saying she's probably not the beneficiary of a lot of breaks in life, heck, I wouldn't even say she's got a long career in acting ahead of her, but we're hardly talking about Paris Hilton here. All this just reminds me of high-school lunchroom cattiness.

She's registering decline to state now, so that when she re-registers Democratic in a year or two, the press can say she was switching from decline to state instead of Republican. Except she screwed it up. I have to say, however, it's a common mistake. I saw several voters come in on election day wanting to vote Obama and being told they couldn't because they were AIP.

I don't know. It's not so much "bimbo" as "odd". It's weird that she's registered as an independent at all. It's like she wanted to switch teams, but didn't want to appear too blatantly calculating about it. As if it could look anything but.
