Little Falcons

Don't F*** with a Falcon Mommy

San Francisco is home to the cinema's most famous falcon, but San Jose has us beat when it comes to bird-of-prey reality TV. The City of San Jose, along with the Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group (motto: "Birds of Prey Know They're Cool"), has a webcam pointed at a falcon family living at San Jose's City Hall.

Now we can enjoy the full nerdy-ness of birding ("why yes, I too am a birder!") without the expensive binoculars and bothersome treks into the wilderness.

More screen shots after the jump.

If a baby owl is an owlet, does that make these "falconets"?

Our '64 Falcon also laid an egg. Where's our webcam?

Sure, falconets or eyasses

San Jose has us beat

In, um, hockey.

And that's about it.

No they don't. Santa Cruz's site has links to George & Gracie's 2006 hatching in dear ol' SF. Sadly, they haven't had prosperous seasons these past two years :(

Good luck to SF falcons! There's plenty of pigeons here for you!
