Matt Gonzalez Chats About Barack Obama
The backlash has started. A few are livid over Barack Obama's surreptitious statements about the poor, armed, and God-fearing that he made over at the Getty manse; others are going into hysterics over ABC's treatment of Barack Obama during the this week's debate. (Actually, some of it was inanely amusing, which, most important of all, made for fantastic television. Check out Ms. Nash McCabe of Pennsylvania [at 1:46] asking Obama if he "believes in the American flag." Because: what?)
Anyway, indie power couple Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez are also in the running for the Oval Office. Yep, still making a go of it, those two. And Gonzalez recently sat down with the inappropriately punctuated Democracy Now! to chat. Gonzalez reveals his thoughts about Barack Obama, voting record accountability, and more. I don't want to read it! I'm damned mad at Matt Gonzalez! He could have rescued us from another bout of Gruesome, but got too big for his britches and decided to trash any hope he has of ever having a future political career anywhere. FBI moles have Obama and Blagojevich logged in as going to Rezko's often. Obama to be called to the stand to state what was discussed during these meetings.
Fitzgerald knows of Obama's intimate role in the entire Rezko enterprise.
Stay tuned! Rumor is, Obama finished, Clinton knows the details, which is why she ain't worried.

Matt Gonzalez needs to take his head out of his ass long enough to realize that he should decide to be a politician or hold "them" in contempt. Can't sit on that fence for long before getting called on your bullshit. I don't give a rat's ass about what he thinks anymore - especially after he turned his back on the people of SF and allowed Prince Gavin to anoint himself Mayor for another 4 years. Ralph Nader? Gore's 2000 VP Lieberman will be the keynote speaker at the Republican Convention. He's been stumping for McCain for a year.
Kerry considered McCain as a VP in 2004.
The Dems thanked the antiwar voter (most voters) in 2006 by supporting the war, er I mean troops and taking impeachment off the table.
And NAFTA, Wall Street bailouts, outsourcing, telecom conglomeration, consumer and labor rights, an imperial president.

I agree wholeheartedly. If people keep voting for the lesser of two evils, what does that accomplish? It simply sends the message that we're willing to eat shit. Maybe if these so-called democrats started losing their jobs left and right, they would get the message that people are sick of their GOP-lite message.
And if enough GOP take the dems jobs, this country will slide further into the toilet and people will start waking up from their nascar stupor and realize that these gods, guns, and abortion republicans couldn't care less about them, their families, their healthcare, or their kids' education.
Gonzalez is still a better man than anybody else in politics today. Sure, I'm (extremely) disappointed that he didn't run for Mayor, but you can't blame the guy for becoming disillusioned.
More fucking power to those who remember that this country isn't supposed to operate under a two-party system. Nader and Gonzalez aren't irrelevant; what's irrelevant is the imaginary distinction between Democrats and Republicans.

What a gaggle of fools that wrote in. I find it incredible that progressives say they want someone who's an independent - and then when one like Gonzalez steps up, they find cosmetic personal reasons to dislike him. Nothing about the issues he supports.
He had the best voting record and record of accomplishment in one term of any supervisor. He made the right decision not to re-run for Mayor - the polls were clear it was better to wait.
The Gonzalez VP run makes him imminently more eletable to state office in CA in the next 5 years. That's why we should be behind it - it raises our platform to a national level - the best ideas are not coming from Obama or CLinton.
Gonzalez's interview that all you didn't look at - is compelling, brilliant and honest. If you want to sink your own candidates, go away. THe left eats its young.
