East Bay Restaurant Heists Continue at Scary, Steady Pace

ski%20masks.JPG

So far eight businesses in the East Bay have been held up by robbers in the past couple of weeks. Last night at around 9 p.m., two suspects hit Restaurant Furenzu on Adeline Street in Emeryville, according to CBS 5 (via Bay City News). While police can't be sure that last night's heist is related to the other ones that have been hitting East Bay restaurants, it does follow the same pattern: "[o]ne of the suspects revealed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from both employees and customers."

No one was hurt during this most recent robbery. The two suspects took off running southbound on Adeline Street. (Hey, if you know anything, call the Oakland fuzz at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-3211 or 510-777-8572.)

According to the Oakland Tribune, "the robbery was similar to the recent spate of six 'takeover'-style incidents of businesses in Berkeley and Oakland involving armed suspects." (All but one of the businesses was a restaurant, the Tribune goes on to say.) Cybelle's Pizza (6468 Moraga Ave), Milano (3424 Grand Ave), Rainbow Cafe, (725 International Blvd.), Pho 84 (354 - 17th St.), Red Boy Pizza (1500 Leimert Blvd.), and Cafe Clem (2703 - 7th Street) have all been targeted since the suspects starting their thieving spree on March 31. Be careful, Chez Paniesse denizens!

Flippant remark - Will there be a video game along the lines of Grand Theft Auto to help train these thugs in the future?

the new one is coming out soon! very excited. (does that make me old? that i still like playing GTA?)

No, liking GTA doesn't make you old....
But asking about it well......

They keep reporting this on the news, state that the robbers don't wear masks but I have yet to hear a description of the robbers!?

Wow! The first Pulp Fiction copycat crime.

"Any of you fucking pricks move, and I'll execute every motherfucking last one of ya!"

They're very carefree with their guns. My guess is someone will get accidentally shot, simply because in the footage I watched, they're just swinging the guns around and using very little firearm safety.

I mean it's one thing to rob a restaurant, but can't you be a LITTLE careful in how you use your weapon?
