12-Year-Old SF Girl Missing

question-mark.jpg

12-year-old SF resident Billie McGee never showed up for class on Monday, reports the San Jose Mercury News (via Bay City News), and has been missing ever since. McGee is described as "a 5-foot-5-inch black girl with black hair and brown eyes who weighs 140 pounds" and was wearing "a black and white jacket with a white, collared shirt and black jeans" on Monday.

Have you seen her? If so, please call the San Francisco Police Department's Missing Persons Unit at 415-558-5508 right-quick.

Spread the word, people. Oh, and we'll update you with a photo of McGee when it becomes available. (In the meantime, the Gate has one up.)

Hope she turns up ok. Also, SFgate has a picture of her up now.

Why is there no Amber Alert for her?

I know this is off the topic, but I'm proud to see the Chron reporting on someone missing who isn't another rich white girl who is missing.

Minorities are kidnapped/lost too.

Best of luck to her and her fam.

@ OrangeDrink: I had the same thoughts too.

Geneva can be a little sketchy sometimes; I hope she turns up soon, safe & sound!

I echo OrangeDrink's sentiments.

I hate to hear this story. She sounds like she was a responsible kid, so it's unlikely she just decided to wander off.

Now they're saying they think she actually ran away and is staying with a man...

at 12??? jeez, I was still playing with barbies when I was 12. Hmm, maybe I shouldn't admit that.
