While taking in the (allegedly) gorgeous weather yesterday, a 20-year-old Marin hiker fell from the cliffs above Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands, and died. The unidentified woman, while walking with her hiking partner who was hurt during a "rescue attempt," was, according to SFGate, "hiking ahead of her partner when he heard her scream and saw rocks falling. The man hiked down the hillside to help her. It was unclear how he was injured."
Between yesterday's bizarre tree-related death at Stern Grove and this fatal hike in the Marin Headlands, nature is scaring us now more than ever before.

Sorry SFist but I think it's a bit tasteless to link to the FB pg of the deceased. :-/
oh, spare me. i'm sure she didn't think of her page or facebook as "tasteless." real nice.
Brock, I'm not saying that her page on FB is tasteless...but this allows any random person to go and comment on her page and her family will see that. Hopefully people will have some respect but this opens up the possibility. I just think people should respect the dead and while I'm sure people can search if they really wanted to find information on her, SFist shouldn't be blatantly advertising who she is.
Sorry Brock, I'm with the naysayers. I think the link should be removed.
mdnelson - No, Facebook's privacy settings don't let just anyone comment on someone's profile. You have to actually be friends with the person on said social networking site first, before you're allowed to comment.
Uh, that's funny -- I'm not her friend and I can comment. I didn't, but it's all laid out there for me. She's in the SF network, and so long as you're in it, you've got some pretty open access to her page.
I think she'd have to pre-set those settings, DaveRocks.
Yeah, and she's in the SF network so anyone who is in the SF Network can comment...and where do the majority of people who read SFist reside...
It's a little lurid, at the least.
fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
gah!
i've changed the link, but only because dianne sent me her art site link. (her stuff is actually quite beautiful. check it out when you have the chance.)
I cannot emphasize how disappointed I am with SFist for linking to her Facebook profile.
/totally clicked on the link to see whether or not she was hot
That's a beautiful art site, Brock. What a tragedy for someone so talented.
Just found out that she's one of our own, an SFSU student.

This is sad.
Oh, and I can't believe Brock buckled but now I know her artwork is pretty.
Brock is his own personal Big Brother.

Methinks y'all are Luddites what with the FB squeamishness.
This is the most disgusting article/blog (whatever the fuck you want to call it) i have ever read. Not only are you giving random ass people Phoebe's fb page out, you make it seem like this wasn't a complete random accident. It is also poorly written. I am deeply offended by this article and being one of phoebe's friends, i don't believe you represented her well at all.
Go fuck yourself, thank you.
Like people don't run searches on Facebook or MySpace themselves when someone local and young dies . . .
honestly...... stop with this. It's tacky and I know for a fact that her friends and family (me being one of them) would think the same.
