Examiner Gets Its Hair Did

examiner.jpg

SF Examiner received a makeover today. (Just a few month's after the Gate went under the knife.) It's much more dark and emo than before, appearance-wise, and their journos get nifty little images next to their featured articles.

Also, news bits from other local Important News services are linked and timestamped at the top of their homepage. Overall, we kinda like it. How about you?

(Pssst, American Idol is on tomorrow night.)

I like the new Examiner site. But I like the title of this post even more! Niiiice.

if only theyd add a link to tell them NOT TO DELIVER THEIR FUCKING FISHWRAP TO MY GODDAMN DOOR EVERY MOTHERFUCKING DAY.

'Scalped' crash victim will what?

"...survive."

Oh, I thought it was going to say, "surprise everyone on the bus with their massive new center parting".

The black, red, and orange is fun, but the content is huh? Headlines from other sites' RSS feeds getting center stage? Incredibly slow breaking news crawl thingy? Huge empty space in the middle of the bottom of the page? And where can I find all of those crazy right wing editorials on local politics?

My favorite part is the "My News" thing that's supposed to let you save stories you don't have time to read. How short does your attention span have to be to not be able to finish an Examiner article? And where exactly is the "My News" button on the articles?

Ahh, Examiner . . . I rarely know what you're thinking, but it sure is fun to watch you try.

It's worth noting NONE of those photo'd journos work at the SF Examiner.

Love the site.

Too bad it's Examiner content, though.

The Examiner is still in business? Oh wait, is that the plastic bag with some paper in it that I kick every morning into the gutter? I'm pretty sleepy at that time of day.

Newspaper sites are usually the worst. White space is always a good thing - however this is what typically happens when you try to cram so much content and ads on to a single page.

Gilded shit is still shit at the core.

Their "Comments" are compiled in such a random way that they don't correspond to the article which you are actually looking at on that page.

That's just hilarious.

I love carne asada tacos. Wait, was this the article about carne asada tacos that we were commenting on? DJTenn wins for the spot on. haha...mucho props, una corona con lima, chipas es guac por tu.

RTFO!

I just called to stop delivery, and number took me a while to find: 866-733-7323. You even get a live person - poor thing - who told me that it takes them at least two days to stop delivery. Let's hear it for efficiency and lack of bureaucracy in the private sector.

Hi Avn, you will need to keep that number handy, every few weeks, their drivers change and they start delivering again.
