late comment: seriously, these guys look like they are literally posing for an american eagle outfitters ad right at this very moment. if that kind of thing revs your engine . . . that must be why your avatar is a north beach sign. if that kind of thing makes you vomit in your mouth a little bit . . . I'm usually the first one to brand someone a douchebag (although usually it's car or double-wide stroller-related). These guys' antics just seemed funny, not douchey at all. These kind of spur of the moment shenanigans are part of what makes this city so great, imo.

Hi IMonster. I actually live in Pacifica and have lived there since '93. Despite everyone's best efforts, I still think setting up a kiddie pool when you are over the age of 10 is low-class, public park or not. However, unlike the new residents you mention, I have zero interest in taking my opinions any further than just expressing them.

ievans, to clarify, if i remember right, it started off using those little rubber balls you can get at toy stores, and it was only when people decided to bring in the real balls that things got murky....but i could be remembering a completely separate event involving small balls and san francisco hills, as there have been quite a few in my teen years alone

Anyone remember the extreme golfing several years ago? I'm sure most of the stuffed shirts here do not. Putting golf balls down Powell Street might dent up their precious little Prius' and BMW's. Thanks guys. I call 'em like I see 'em and am passionate about the whimsical. Anyone remember the original pajama parties at Cafe Rex on Polk? (circa 99) You know - before the uptight attention whores got in on it and started dressing like sluts and manwhores. We were wearing big pink bunny slippers and silly old people pajamas for chrissakes and getting loaded! ahhh...the good ol' days. And yes, I do remember the massive slip and slide - loved it! We need more of that around here. Celebrate and enjoy life because regardless of how you live it, eventually it goes away.

If you've never been young and done anything slightly silly or dumb then go to the very back of the line and take your one way boring ticket back to ElderVilleFuckYou, Montana. I was actually sitting in the park when this took place. I kept wondering where the heck they were going to get the water for it. Apparently, they had done this before, because they just went over and somehow plugged a water hose into a sprinkler head. I heard a few curmudgeons complaining about what this would do to the grass (as you can see they orange fencing protecting new sod), but meh, this hardly causes as much damage as the volleyball players who take up daily residence there during the summer, and it looked fun as hell. Perfect day for it too.
