Tibet Rally and Peace March Today

We almost forgot: there's a Tibet Rally and Peace March. (Remember, good citizens of the Bay Area it says "Peace," so be on your best behavior.) Pretty Woman's Richard Gere and Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu will be there. Will you?
Here are the details:
On Tuesday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m., a rally and peace march will begin at UN Plaza. At 1:00 p.m., those gathered will march to the Chinese Consulate on Laguna Street at Geary Boulevard. The march will proceed west on Fulton Street past City Hall and north on Van Ness Avenue, west on Geary to the Consulate. The march will then return to UN Plaza by heading east on O'Farrell Street to Van Ness and returning along the original route. This event will conclude with a vigil at UN Plaza until 9:00 p.m.
Will there be MUNI delays? But of course. Find out what lines will be affected during your lunch hour after the jump.
Lines: F, 5, 6, 19, 21, 38, 38L, 47, 49, 71
Area: Civic Center, Cathedral Hill, Japantown
Date: Tuesday, April 8, 2008
Time: 1:00pm until clear
If you're attending the rally or traveling to these areas, check withsfmta, 311 (or SFist!) for transportation updates.
Oh, and tomorrow during the torch run at 10 a.m., another rally will take place (care of Team Tibet Mass Mobilization!) just outside the Ferry Building.

Will snacks be provided?
Police are gathering in front of Bill Graham Auditorium, and a helicopter is hovering above the new federal building at 7th & Mission. Trouble brewing?
Why only love for the oppressed Tibetians?
What about the oppressed Uighurs?
San Francisco is the only North American city the Olympic torch will visit in 2008. When it passes through this week, it's important to demonstrate that not everyone here approves of the Chinese government's ongoing atrocities in Tibet and in mainland China, and its funding of the slaughter in Darfur.
Join us! Meet up:
10a: Ferry Park (between Washington & Clay streets off of Drum. Near Embarcadero 4 of the Embarcadero Center. ) Get off the BART at Embarcadero and walk toward Justing Herman Plaza. You will not be able to miss us, really!
Map to Ferry Park here.
The torch route has been announced, and will run 6 miles along the Embarcadero, starting at 1p, at McCovey Cove at AT&T Park, and ending at Justin Herman Plaza. View the route.
