'We Hate You ____' Takes Off

You know that movie we're not talking about whose marketing campaign sucks? The one that some fine folks of SF parodied on 24th Street? That we reported on over a week or so ago? Well, now, in addition to Fametracker and Hollywood Elsewherepicking up on the story, Berkeley is getting in on the act. And in typical fashion, a week later.

The above was shot at Sacramento and Ashby. While SFist can't agree with the anti-capitalism sentiment in this latest movie ad campaign spoof--because...well, because it's stupid--we are impressed with its size and audacity. Way to go, Berkeley.

Is mentioning your commie mom really an anti-capitalist statement?

a pomo freudian statement, perhaps?

"...Signed, Neil Bush"

Berkeley is quite good at the movie parodies. They once doctored a billboard for some awful Hillary Duff movie to read "TRIM THE BUSH." Or perhaps that was a double entendre.

That said, this billboard looks like that mispelled "capitalism" with an N at the end, and tried to fix it after the fact.

It looks to me like the "M" was written from a different angle as the rest of the word, or the modifier had to change position in between strokes - the exclamation point looks like it was done in the same position as the "M."

Given the consistency of the kerning though, I doubt said modifier would have chosen to place the exclamation point so far from the alleged N. Perhaps our dear vandal simply paints a crappy N?

Nice work on the hand lettering of the rest though, well done.

shoulda used a sharpie and rasterbator

I don't care, I love capitalism.
