I hope the first enemy nuclear explosion to happen in the USA takes place in San Francisco.

It's going to happen somewhere, so it might as well be there. Who needs the place?

On highway 24 there is a property owner memorializing every US service death in Iraq. Yes, there are literally 4000 crosses on their property. They represent to me the tragedy that can be the MIS-USE of our military. The Vietnam memorial means the same to some from that era. The WW2 memorials mark a time of unification of the world to bring down two empires-to-be.

What will the Iraqi war memorial look like?
How many names are going to be on it?
Will we obfuscate the reasons for the fallen for our own historical gratification?

Meanwhile......

The deception metastasizes as the months and causalities mount...............

The President who was never deigned to go to Dover Air Force Base to salute the fallen who are coming home says no photographs of their coffins can be permitted because that would hurt the feelings of the families. This is false, tragically false; the real reason is that day after day the photos would starkly reveal the price of Bush’s folly.

Good night........

“God bless America.” This phrase is used correctly when it conjures an image of God helping people cope with the great losses they have incurred, when it pulls members of the nation together to help and serve one another, and when it asks for the healing of our brokenness that only God can offer. This phrase is used incorrectly when it implies that God should bless our nation at the expense of others, that the United States should enjoy special privilege in the sight of God, or that the lives of Americans are inherently more valuable than the lives of any other people in the world."-unknown

ooohhhh...........you though I was done?

Hell no.......

It is perfectly true that a quick Iraq withdrawal will require something very painful: admitting a colossal strategic mistake. This is the #1 unbearable disgrace for Republicans and all other core backers of the war and occupation. The #2 disgrace would be payment of reparations to Iraq through a UN or World Bank trust. #3 would be the outrage of the post-occupation Iraqi government resolving the oil issue on its own terms, possibly contracting French, Russian, and Chinese firms, while leaving US or UK firms on the sidelines.

Self-denial, vanity, fear to face the music, and greed are at play. It has nothing to do with US security. The fiasco has made us less secure, drained lives and money, and now we are the laughingstock of much of the world.

Don't believe in polls? Well, how about the value of the US dollar on world exchanges?

Let Iraqis rule Iraq, whether by federation, partition, or unitary state. Any model we impose will crumble the day we leave, whether that occurs now or in 100 years. Iraq will not be pro-US, pro-Israel, or pro-anything we favor so long as we occupy them, or as long as we contrived to have privileged access to their oil.

Medieval Europeans wasted 250 years on their venture. Better to learn from them, plus from Britain's troubles in Iraq in the 1920s onward, rather than repeat a futile imperial exercise.

The trillion plus we waste in Iraq could have done so much more for our security or economy if spent on just about anything else.

"be as careful getting out as we were careless getting in" – who said that?

I am mad.......you want more......

After years of attacks and insults from Republicans, I am really going to enjoy watching their implosion. The Republicans have only themselves to blame for their “fall from grace”. The childish manner at which they insult anyone who disagrees with them, while they rubber stamp any policy that Republicans create shows a true lack of cognitive ability that I think should be required for a position in government.

As I compared the constructs of the Democrats and Republicans, I see differences that matter to me. (1) The Democrats are “pro” things; pro-choice, pro-civil-rights and liberties, pro-consumer, pro-environment. (2) Democrats also seem to have many more moderate and conservatives than the GOP has liberals or progressives. To me this shows an ability on the part of the Democrats to have diverse ideology while still working compromises with members of the GOP. Working together to solve the problems Americans face is crucial to success. In the last 8+ years the Republicans have shown me that they don’t want to work together with facts and logic, they just want you to know that they are right.

That’s why I’m voting for Democrats in this next election. Hil or O or both......Dems in 08....

I want someone like Apostacy commenting on Fox News, who can articulate the anger behind this idea (I assume there is geniune anger).

It's a humorous response to a serious train wreck and it should be addressed as such.

Republicans are sad; an angry tragedian…the worst America has to offer…

We have yet to endure the tactical and strategic blunder that the war in Iraq really is.

I know! Why don't we bomb other countries that have schools, water, power, and police for their people? We can quickly lower the population, while creating enemies for our industrial military complex?

How's that sound Republicans?

Bush Sees "Defining Moment" In Iraq

He saw WMD, Al Qaeda; mobile weapons labs, terrorist training facilities, missiles that could reach New York, 45-minute ready chemical weapons, none of which were there.

What he will see is his legacy and his Parties demise, but at least I got my $600 “tax-rebate” check from China!!

You wanna get some?....lets go.........other wise go sit in the corner with your talking point spewing fallacy of a constituency.....
