Fremont Rape Suspect in Standoff

Over at the Papyon Terrace condominium complex in south Fremont, James Henderson--a 39-year-old man--raped, pistol whipped, and beat a woman early this morning, prompting a standoff with the police. (He lives in the garage of his family's condo, it seems. Charming.) Police still have him barricaded within Papyon Terrace's walls, according to the Oakland Tribune, and SWAT teams have surrounded the complex. Unfortunately, Herderson has yet to be apprehended or fatally shot.

The Tribune goes on to say that they don't believe Henderson has taken any hostages, but the SWAT team "has locked down the complex and surrounded the building, located near Auto Mall Parkway." The standoff has closed the Mall Parkway for now.

Update: It ended in a spectacular tear-gas finale. He finally crawled out from his family's condo, and was arrested at "11:20 a.m. on suspicion of several felony charges, including sexual assault and assault with deadly weapon.," reports the Gate.

from SF Gate: "Police say they don't believe Henderson has taken any hostages. They say he has an extensive criminal record and the alleged rape may have occurred during a date with a prostitute."

I think there MUST be an acronym for such a "misunderstanding" isn't there?? Where is that handy adult-erotic-services glossary anyhow?

I think its ok to shoot him.

"a women"?

Ditto sf bikebike, except I would add getting raped by a large and ferocious animal.

I'm putting my money on "fatally shot." What other skills do the police have anymore?

Pimps are so old school, it's craigslist now. Good luck getting those hippies to back you up when you have trouble with a abusive john.

Pimps are so old school, that's all done on Craigslist now. Of course, good luck getting those hippies to help you when a john smacks you around.

Come on, third time's the charm.

Wow, teargas. What a blast from the past! I guess the SWAT team does have extra training, so good on them to have something on hand besides bullets.
