Racing Taxicabs Crash Into Parked Cars
In some four-day old news that managed to limbo under our radar, two cabbies (allegedly) racing with one another down Fulton Street on Monday night crashed into parked cars at around 11 p.m. Lovely. According to KTVU:
"The crash occurred around 11 p.m. as the cabs raced to the bottom of the hill on Fulton and Arguello where they careened out of control and into a group of parked cars in the 3500 block of Fulton, the witness told KTVU . . .[t]he crash remains under investigation."
Fortunately, no one was hurt save for the two genius taxi drivers who both blessedly suffered only minor injuries. But this begs the question: which cab companies were involved in this exhilarating threat-to-public-safety romp? Our money is on Yellow Cab. What say you?
Update: Turns out both taxis were from Yellow Cab. Now who's stuck on a shit list?

I seem to remember from the news that morning that they were both Yellow. I went by there later that afternoon and both victim cars were still sitting at Fulton and 11th. I couldn't believe how hard the imact was. It was like one big, almost half-circular dent that went from the middle of the back car to the middle of the forward car. I could have parallel parked inside that dent.
I am so over you, Shitty Taxi Service in SF! That video is RAW. They obviously weren't racing for a fare because YOU CAN NOT GET A F*CKING TAXI IN THE RICHMOND to save your life.

Since I've been hit three times by cabs in the last two years, all from the same company, I'm going to go with DeSoto.
I see Toyota Corolla is a sponsor. Maybe you can hook up the Toyotalled Corolla victim of "DeathCab2008" with a discount?
I say cab drivers speed excessively way too often in this City ... especially in the evening hours. The way they resent pedestrians, I'd prefer cabs be banned.
maybe there was another cab involved, with the third hailing from green cab, but it ran outta gas during the race.

I've been hit by Yellow (the guy was driving on THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD). Sent them a bill for my totalled car and they paid up in full without a question. I guess they're shit scared of being sued.
i can just imagine that "oh shit, there goes my medallion" moment in the middle of the careen.

Quality of cab drivers has gone down dramatically in the past couple years. It's like they've emigrated over from New York City.
