Chinese Consulate Attacked

Early this morning at around 4 a.m. someone "threw an incendiary device at the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco," according to the Gate. Located at 1450 Laguna Street, the consulate wasn't affected too much, but its roll up garage door on Geary Street, it seems, was burned.
While no one knows exactly why the building was targeted, fire department Lt. Mindy Talmadge tells the Gate that "[t]he Arson Task Force is investigating this and of course it's a high profile building, so I'm sure the consulate will have some other agencies involved."
Update: NBC 11 says that "[i]Investigators suspect the building was targeted in connection with recent protests in Tibet where citizens are pushing for independence from China." No one was injured during the early morning incident.

Ah petrol bombs, it makes me homesick.
Uh, nobody knows? Clearly this is part of the chain of protests against Chinese consulates that are taking place world wide as a result of the Tibet riots.
Finally someone venting their outrage in the right direction
A little off topic, but I was in a bar this weekend where this completely clueless guy asked the bartender for a Molotov cocktail.
The bartender squinted his eyes and just shook his head. "Do you even know what that is?" he asked.
"Not really. But I've heard of them before."
I was half hoping the bartender would make him one, but he didn't.
The right direction? What is that fire caught and burned the apartment building next door down, or a firefighter fell through the roof? Fucktard.
I smell conspiracy! Maybe Newsom's gang or the folks at the consulate did it to support pushing the "free speech zone" further away.
Agree with the protests against China for a variety of reasons. But lets grow up kids... this is America. No need to burn flags, throw rocks, or bomb shit. We can be more sophisticated than that.
or can we?
sure we can! just look at codepink.
