I work directly across from the TransAmerica Pyramid, on the 9th floor. I had a conference call this morning and couldn't hear a thing with all the clamoring below. Of course, that was nothing compared to the 3 years I lived overlooking Market. Every Saturday at 10am, like clockwork, I'd hear the bongos and the bullhorns, and see "Free Mumia" (or whoever) signs for miles. Someone should inform protestors that from more than 20 feet away, no one can understand what they're saying--their cause du jour is just noise.

from my window above California, it appears the ratio of protesters to police is one to one. i like the hybrid bus that's following the convoy of cop cars, in case anyone gets tired.
