Cheer up, Jen, it's not as bad as you think: Titan is the company that sells the advertising in BART cars & stations to advertisers. As a government/transit entity, I believe BART would be required to hire a local (at least CA-based) ad agency if they were promoting ridership, etc. Which they should, 'cause yeah, to your point there are a lot of good agencies in town.

Brock, I think you need to slow down and read the stories you are linking to. You have been REALLY sloppy lately. The Mirror retracted their story on Arthur C. Clarke, and BART has retained a new ad AGENT, which basically finds advertisers for BART (not an ad AGENCY, which would provide BART ads.) Jen Maiser (who posted above)--you should read the articles as well.

Please, SFist, can you bother to take a microsecond to fact check? Google results 1 - 10 of about 21,600 for "arthur c clarke cleared of paedophilia." (0.33 seconds) And 27,000 more results in .30 seconds if you spell it "pedophilia." Clarke was never charged and was completely cleared by 2000, according to archives.

Yikes. According to wikipedia via BBC, the pedophilia allegations against Clarke were proved baseless, and the Mirror issued a retraction of the claims: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/s/w_asia/74938.stm I'd seriously consider striking that offhand bit of character assassination, Brock. Just another day in the info mines....

Nice to see BART going with a local ad agency ... not. It's not like we don't have any good agencies in this town. Annoying.
