I actually saw the folks painting over the wall, but that was before the started writing their poorly rendered protest, I figured they were the same folks that live/work/have studios in the old station.

Frankly I don't really care, the wall has been bad lately with only a few new posters and those mostly badly done in the extreme.

Plus this thing is already disappearing. 'Pi' has done a nice big three-color throw up over the lettering, so other than lingering orange, this will soon be forgotten.

There's an old white lady that's like the "flyer Nazi" in the Mission. I used to see her tear down flyers for political stuff all the time, but haven't seen her around lately.

And yes, that wall is a city treasure. What's funny is that it's the wall of the old police station before they moved over to 17th and Valencia.

Ick! This was my favorite wall in the city until it was painted over. But I won't fret, it will look like it used to in a few days or weeks.

Very good point, PhilG.

That reminds me of the maligned "flyer Nazi" guy who gets paid by the clubs to tear down everyone else's flyers and put theirs up. I haven't seen him around in a while, but then again, I don't really pay attention. I remember seeing him in the Haight all the time.

As someone who does a lot of flyering as a promoter, I try to avoid covering up flyers, posters, or stickers for other upcoming events - it just seems like common courtesy, since I don't like it when someone comes along and covers up the flyers I just posted. Sadly, this bit of common ethics is often overlooked by many people, who seem to feel that whatever they have to say/publicize is way more important than anything from anyone else. That someone would "hijack" the political wall seems to carry the statement that the perps don't care about anyone else's statement, so it would seem justified if no one else cared about theirs.
