i visited the spca adoption center (and their very special staff) over the weekend ... those animals live better than most san franciscans. each resides in its own massive glass-enclosed condo with sleeping cushions, toys, food, a view and (yes) a TV. plus multiple daily pettings. if only the homeless were cute when they licked your face, perhaps they'd get similar treatment. alas.

Why on my green earth would they move 750 dogs from Arizona to Marin? What? The inferior, primitive state of Arizona doesn't have it's own SPCA? Furthermore, you'd think the raisins who birthed these beasts might have become a little alarmed, oh, I dunno, 6, 700 dogs back. Dogs ain't exactly tribbles, you know. Particularly this breed. Considering their diminutive size, I can't imagine their litters are all that big.

I don't think all 750 dogs went to the Marin Shelter, just a portion of the rescued dogs. Also, abc news stated that the shelter already has more adoption applications turned in than they have dogs.
