This Week At The DeYoung
We went by the DeYoung the other day to check out the this-week-only Bouquets to Art exhibit. It's pretty neat - the museum has a bunch of local florists/horticulturalists come in and design living pieces that complement the pieces in the standard collection. And the bonus: it smells good! It's $5 above the standard admission to get in ($2 off if you remember to bring a MUNI pass or transfer), and it ends on Saturday. We hung out for a few hours, and it was well worth it.

Will Ixia be there? I love Ixia. The can hang two twigs in their window, and it comes off as floral genius.
The flower arrangements are amazing. The art is amazing. Together? Uh, not so much.
I'm going tomorrow when the museum is open until 9pm (and grab a drink and listen to music too).
There are some great photos in the Deyoung flickr group: http://flickr.com/groups/deyoung/
Correction: The event is absolutely not limited to "local" florists - the come from all over the state, I think.
