Thanks Brock... also, do they make you stay overnight there at SFist? Like my kindergarten teacher. I don't think she ever went home. Singing Guy is named Walter and he is amazing... you guys should do an interview with him... he lives in a group home and clearly has some type of developmental disability but is just the sweetest guy ever and loves the SHIT out of the board of supervisors.

Can we have Supervisor meetings in the evenings once or twice a month so that working folks can attend without using up precious vacation days? If they really want to represent the people, they'd give more people a chance to show up and tell them to shove these stupid ideas up their collective asses.

Daithi, why should Gavin be so afraid of Chris Daly (or any other supervisor)? I'm sick of hearing the argument that Gavin does not have to comply with the will of the voters merely because Chris Daly will grandstand and rant. If the mayor is proud of his accomplishments, let him stand on his record. Let him use his monthly visits to the Board to help launch his gubenatorial campaign. From the sounds of it just three months into his new term, his mind is already in Sacramento. (Wow. Didn't see that one coming, did we SF?) The problem isn't Chris Daly, who actually works for a living and spends his time in San Francisco fighting for poor people. The problem is our ineffectual and absent mayor who runs off every week to Iowa and Texas to hang out with the Clintons and to NYC and LA to raise money to pay off his exorbitant campaign expenditures and Switzerland and Hawaii for vacations and on and on and on. Our mayor sucks and he's getting away with it because most folks in this town get their news from lame corporate television news and newspapers and have no idea what's going on in their city or anywhere else in the world for that matter. If our Mayor were actually held accountable it would be a VERY GOOD thing for this city indeed. He'd actually have to worry about what's going on here instead of just using our town as a stepping stone for his future political career.

Seriously, whatever about Dufty et al going to Sydney, a visible SF tourism presence at sydney mardi gras would generate beacoup tourist dollars. The same folks that flock from all over the world with lots of cash to spend are the same folks who will come here for Pride, folsom, castro fair etc, spend a little to make a lot. It works..

If this was a genuine back and forth of ideas, suggestions, policy etc it would not be a bad thing, but all it will end up being is grandstanding and rants from Chris Daly, that will acheive nothing.
