Mating season, it's on. This wild turkey was found inside the city limits of San Jose. Who knew?

I saw two turkeys chilling in Oakland last Saturday morning. It was a total Twin Peaks experience.

Wow, what a great picture.

I work for a larger dotcom in Sunnyvale, off Mathilda/237. It's not unusual to see turkeys roaming our grassy front courts between Fall and Spring! Last year I was standing in the grill line in the cafe, and out the window behind the grill guy's back, a turkey bravely strutted by. No turkey burgers that day!

kind of a handsome devil...

and probably quite tasty too.

They're definitely in our Berkeley hood! Boy turkey chasing girl turkey and all. :) Last year, by late Spring, we had quite a few baby turkeys running around. I expect the same this year!
