How Now Brown Cow: Poets 11 Accepting Submissions

Are you a poet? Do you know it? (Ouch.) Well, Poets Eleven, a citywide poetry contest showcasing prose created by residents of each of San Francisco's 11 districts, above, is now accepting submissions. You work will be scrutinized by San Francisco Poet Laureate Jack Hirschman, so snap on your thinking and creativity caps, kids.
Local poets are asked to submit up to three works for review. Mr. Hirschman, we're told, is interested in pieces that reflect San Francisco’s diversity of language and culture. (Our first submission is entitled "Don't Snitch," so don't even think of stealing it.) He "encourages poets who write in languages other than English to submit works." All poets whose work is chosen will receive a whopping fifty dollars for their readings, so hop to it.
You can send submission to bspoonerbookevents[at]friendssfpl[dot]org, or send them to :

According to Poets 11, "submissions must include a return address, email or phone number and district for a response, but poets may also bring their work to any branch library and then arrange to return to that same branch for a response. For more information visit friendssfpl.org. Oh, and good luck.

Your district map is a little out of date.

you bring up a good point. i used the map the library sent us, but let me ask them what the deal is. maybe they're being retro or ironic or something.
