Back of the second car in the train. It's called proof of payment. Demand to speak to his supervisor? That's rich. I've already had one train operator try to run me over for no reason. I should try to give another one a reason to run me over? How about I call you and have you pull that shit. :-)

why are you boarding at the back of the bus? i thought that was illegal? from what i understand, these drivers know that people they catch in the door are cheaters and probably laugh about it. screaming ain't gonna do shit zippy. demand to talk to his supervisor. stand in front of the bus until you can get him/her on the call. demand action!

Whether MUNI is at fault is completely relevant, it's the heart of the matter. Should we simply not board because we won't know if the operator is high or not? Should we not cross an intersection because we won't know whether or not the bus driver is more interested in eating their fried chicken than paying attention to the traffic signal? No! We should demand that MUNI operators follow the same traffic laws that apply to us. Really, really basic stuff like no running red lights, etc. Yes, twats on bikes, cars, pedestrians, etc have problems too. That's irrelevant to the problem at hand (the problem of operator inattention). sucka: call me what you want. I've already gotten into a few screaming matches with MUNI operators (including the one asshat who caught me in the doors because he was too lazy to look). It's boring. Until the handful of competent MUNI operators are willing to call out their incompetent coworkers, I can't say that I'm all that eager to make my way up to the first car, hope he doesn't leave without me, and then scream.

zippy, that is a great point. do you mind if i call you out as the pussy of the year for not saying anything to him about it? i would have have got in his face and told him to grow the fuck up and stop hurting people, or you'd kick his worthless ass up and down the aisle right then and there. ? my experience is limited on buses, granted. i only ride the light rail. i've lived across the street from the n-judah line at 2nd and king for 8 years now. i've seen a few deaths, a lot of accidents and a lot of near misses. every single time it is the fault of the pedestrian, bicyclist or car that is in the way of the train, crossing when he had the light and right of way. people are just asking to be killed every day. i can't believe we've survived as a species as long as we have when i see this shit. luckily we are breeding like weeks otherwise i think we would have died off long ago.

I'll worry about demanding that MUNI operators start following the same traffic laws that apply to us as soon as WE start following the traffic laws that apply to us. Really really basic stuff like the asswipe in a BMW who passed a line of 3 cars on 18th last night by swerving into the oncoming lane, and then ran the stop sign at 18th/Noe. Why did he do this? Because the 3 cars in front of him were waiting to safely pass me - on my bike as I had to take the lane to get around a double parked car (is double parking a "traffic law"?) As soon as he pulled this stunt I prepared to read the story about the driver of a Toyota who was killed in a head on collision with a BMW travelling in the wrong lane. The BMW driver was released with minor injuries.

Suckafree is right: people need to quit treating the trains so lightly and realize that they pose a real threat. Whether or not MUNI is at fault is irrelevant; the fact is that trains aren't as easy to control as cars and can and will cause serious damage if people don't stay out of the way.

suckafree: how about this: Please be ware of lazy, incompetent MUNI operators. On my way to work yesterday the operator cought this woman in the door, and started to take off (gee, why does that sound familiar???). After moving a few feet he stopped. Every turn he took, he took at full speed knocking people over(!) at the 14/15/Taraval/Ulloa intersections. In the metro he reliably closed the doors on boarding passengers (yes, the operators DO control the doors even if the train is on "auto" mode) at every metro stop. Aside from Vawanda, I can't think of a competent MUNI operator!

The man died after being taken to the hospital. http://www.ktvu.com/news/15491988/detail.html I saw the aftermath. The J-Church was derailed on 21st and Chattanooga, where the train crosses.
