Radiohead, Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, and You

radiohead.jpg

What with all of the media attention this summertime concert has received as of late, you would assume Miley Cyrus (the Madeleine Elster/Judy Barton narrative of our time) was booked to "sing" at Golden Gate Park. Alas, she is not.

Your consolation prize? Radiohead, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, and Jack Johnson are lined up for the debut of the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, happening August 22-24. Ticket prices, activities, other performers, and more are TBA, so check their site regularly for more info. (Or give them your email address and they'll send you updates...if you dare.)

Golden Gate Park plus all of this critically acclaimed music? Why, it really is the best of both worlds.

Fuck Yes! We've needed this for a long time!!!!

Going to be an amazing time and have something for everyone. These guys throw Bonnaroo in Tennessee which is a friggin awesome fest, as well as Jazz Fest in New Orleans, and Vegoose in vegas.

WORLD CLASS promoters... and I'll tell you 80,000 people in bonnaroo and it goes quite smoothly there... they know what they're doing.

5 stages... man they're going to get every kind of music under the sun and a major bay area jam contingent no doubt! Hell yes!

I love band pictures of Radiohead. That bald bloke lurking at the back always looks like he was delivering food and accidentally stumbled into the shot. Pretty amazing lineup for an SF event. Looks like we've finally made it into the 90s.

WOW!
What a birthday present for me

:p

Nice play using the whimsical Jack Johnson to prevent the wholesale suicidal carnage of a long Radiohead set. : )

this news totally made my day!!!!!!!

*yawn*

I pray they don't let them perform on any of the sports fields. Fieldspace already sucks in this city and it totally blows when the Rec & Park Dept allows them to be used for concerts and other festival type events. The very worst is the Bay the Breakers "Footstock". The Polo Field is shut down for two weeks during set up and break down. The gardeners deliberately under water the grass so that it can survive the trauma of so much traffic, but the reality is that they never bounce back. Why oh why can't they have Footstock at Speedway or one of the other big meadows? Such a waste.

Radiohead band has marked itself as one of the most popular rock bands. Their style is known of the harmony found among its members. And this is what helps them to create a good music. Since its creation in the early nineties up till now Radiohead has captured people’s attention and succeeded to gather more and more audience. Their popularity is fairly remarkable while in a concert. It become so hard to find a ticket and prices become so high. As I am one of thousands of their fans, this problem upsets me and in more than once I missed some concerts due to tickets prices. Lately, a friend recommended me a site to compare ticket prices and I find it interesting idea because this way I can look for the cheapest prices in the ticket market. In case you want to us it here it is:
