Yes, just as annoying if boys. My point being I don't want cookies, but want to support their efforts. Instead of a thank you I felt like I was being told I could to better than that. Kinda like when someone on the street asks for a dollar, then they see you have a 5 and want that too.

I second that Lola. Last year I saw girl scouts selling cookies and decided to buy a couple boxes, not because I wanted them but because I remember what it was like to have to sell them as a kid. I only had a twenty and the little scammer thought I should by 6 boxes instead of get change back!

Hate Thin Mints: the chocolate coating never melts. Freeze them?! Just not my thing. Also, Samosas are the ambrosia of the gods, so if you don't like them, great! More for me.

Does anyone remember those ones they sold in the early to mid nineties that were like strawberry and cream? those were by far the best girl scout cookies to have roamed the planet.

One of the first things I saw when I moved here was a little green monster screaming "shut up! SHUT UP!!!" and shin-kicking an old man in the Castro who was holding a sign and telling people near her sales table not to buy girl scout cookies because the GSA supports right wing causes. And something about AIDS (which was still a really big deal in '93 -- people protested everything! It was great.) I knew then that I was home.

selling GS cookies is dangerous! remember a couple years ago the GS cash boxes were being ripped off? one at knife-point, if i remember correctly. my experience selling the thin mints and samoas in sprawling suburban apartment complexes was pretty creepy, tho nothing major happened. and thin mints crumbled up over some good coffee ice cream is incredibly yum, i tell ya. the thin mint cannot be reproduced in civilian cookies. i'm glad they are once a year, tho they keep forever if you freeze em. ~~~gogo

Samoas and *chilled* Thin Mints are the bomb. Never tried the latter frozen, but I sure do like them from the fridge. The stand I bought my Samoas from in West Portal was hardcore. Gotta give those little rug rats some credit.

Just plain gross. The Samoas are the worst. I lived on the shortbread cookies the summer of '03. Looking back, I'm not sure how I stayed alive.
