Huge Bay Area Meth Ring Bust

bay area meth bust

Your weekend just got a little sleepier. Ten locations, including two in San Francisco, were busted today in connection with a methamphetamine distribution setup that went from San Francisco and the Bay Area all the way to Mexico. Federal, state, and local law enforcement. In total 13 people were arrested. According to KGO:

The raids started simultaneously at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning with 200 agents moving in on the ten locations. Law enforcement was in a hurry to execute their search warrants.

"We believe it's responsible for distribution on the streets of up to 20 pounds of methamphetamine per month," says Joseph Schadler, an FBI agent.

"How much is that in street value?" asks reporter.

"A quarter million dollars[ish]," says Schadler.

On the brighter side, those black helicopters will stop spying on you. And you can quit plucking your eyelashes; there really are no radio transmitters embedded inside of them. (...or are there?)

Also, will this affect cocaine distribution? We can't say. Any DEA-knowledgeable readers out there care to tell us what the overlap is with regard to meth and coke retail sales? Will this bust make a dent in powdery substance use here in the Bay Area?

The two ladies on the top row of photos gives me the shivers.

Does anyone know whereabouts in the city the two busts took place? I always have a hard time believing SF is a huge hub for meth production, so I'd be interested to see if it's concentrated in any particular area.

Not sure where todays bust was, but I have heard in the past that the Excelsior area is where you should go to find those types.

Presidio Terrace would be my guess.

the hells angels camp in dogpatch/p-hill was the site of a HUGE meth bust a few years back. one of my colleagues lived down the street from them and walked out his door at 7am the day they were rolling in to catch them sleeping. he was told to go back inside for a few hours and didn't make it to work that day. on the bright side, since he rode a motorcycle too, his bike was never messed with in that hood. he felt quite safe about it.

"Your weekend just got a little sleepier" made me laugh out loud.

@ Akit -

Believe it or not, those are all photos of the same woman, documenting her decline due to years of meth use.

I saw that series somewhere else a few years back and it was enough to make me tell my girlfriend, "Bitch, stop shooting that crank!"

where did those pictures come from?
