Man Loses Arms In San Jose Airport Accident

Billion-dollar expansion work at Mineta San Jose International Airport came to a halt this morning after a 28-year-old construction worker's arms were severed below his elbows in an accident. Yikes.
According to NBC 11, "the 28-year-old construction worker somehow became entangled in the equipment that drives long posts into the ground with quick movements, the San Jose Mercury News reported." It appears that the accident involved pile driving work for "a new roadway just south of the Terminal A garage at the north end of the airport."
Construction work will stop today and tomorrow while an investigation is underway.

Totally inappropriate choice of picture! Ech!
I think it couldn't be MORE appropriate...
Agree with athebeach. The choice of photo shows a callous disregard for the welfare of others.
Were they able to sew his arms back on?
"Totally inappropriate choice of picture"
Says the person with the siberian tiger avatar
SNAP! judd870, snap!
Before I even saw Venus there I thought "a 28 y/o construction worker? Bet he's sculpted." And well...
I totally agree that the picture was totally inappropriate. My son is a Pile Driver for another company and this is a horrible thing to happen to anyone in their industry.
I will probably have more information about this tomorrow as there is a Pile Drivers union meeting tomorrow night.
I would like to thank the people who commented about the picture regarding the accident at the San Jose Airport. As a friend of this person, seeing the picture made me sick to my stomach.
They were not able to reattach his hands or forearms. Piledriving is a very dangerous job and if it wasn't for them, we would have no bridges to drive over.
Also, the man was not 28 years, he turned 41 this past Monday, that does not mean he is sculpted. Some people really need to think before commenting on anything.
it's funny how i always thought i was the first to appreciate satire...
i'm not the most sensitive sonnaofabitch in the world, but goddamn!
as a member of the local 34, i gotta say you bastards could of showed this man a little more respect.
we're not out here busting our ass and in his case losing his arms so you supply fodder for your little page.
