My husband used to get paid to judge this stuff. I tagged along for a few competitions and it's strangely entertaining. It's mainly a midwestern thing. Just type in "showchoir" on youtube for some mindblowingly cheesy choreography with lots of hairspray and glitter and jazz hands.

Jeez. They were good for high schoolers. When I was in high school we thought that our choir was pretty good when we all remembered to wear our stupid tomato red choir dresses.

Is this representative of every day high school talent things or is this a high school on Palm Beach or some other billionaire island? Not bad .... I'd prefer to see the musical in New York again though.
