Mission Murder Misses Media Radar

While Oakland received tons of press over the weekend for its recent spate of murder, this Mission murder, which happened near 25th and South Van Ness (be careful, Phone Booth patrons!), went all but unnoticed. Around 6:45 p.m. last Friday, two men approached 21-year-old Jose Reynoso and shot him in the head and chest. He was taken to SF General Hospital where he died the following day.
Police have "sketchy descriptions of the killers" and no arrests have been made. If you feel like snitching, please give the donut eaters a call: 415-575-4444. (While you're at it, check out all of SFPD's anonymous tip lines. The narcotics line tries to pull a funny.)

um, Brock? this "if you feel like snitching" commentary of yours? pretty crass. somebody's died, and that person, his friends and family *as well as the community as a whole* need redress.
Remember that when calling certain numbers, your calling number and name will be displayed.
For example "800" numbers -888,877,866- and 911.
This is regardless of whether your number is unlisted or if you have blocked caller ID.
So anon is not always anon
Spate. A spat is a fight or argument.
Sorry to nitpick.
So , how do we citizens find out about how which murders have led to arrests and which are not active. It seems like the SFPD doesn't even try to find killers anymore. "Vague descriptions?" So where is the publicly available resource on murder investigations?
And seriously, snide dude Brock: cold-blooded murder, a couple of blocks from where people like me live. Guess it's not important enough to be serious about, like you are about pressing matters like the writer's strike.

I'm wondering if Brock's 'snitching' remark was saying more about the community as a whole "in need of redress"- I've seen more "stop snitchin'" t'shirts in that neighbourhood than I could count.
Brock may aspire to "keep it real," but he's acting like a louse.
