Why was this not reported?

I was there yesterday, an officer told me the man arrested was irate and screaming outside of the Consulate, claiming to be Egyptian royalty and demanding to be sent home. The police arrested him and took him away. His briefcase was left behind just outside the gate. While the bomb squad was on its way, the police evacuated the surrounding homes and blocked off the streets.

This is the same location where the bat with rabies was found last month. I'd stay away from this intersection.

thanks to the wonderful tools of google, we are able to see plenty of the consulates ARE within feet of residents. (well at least here in SF)

* Type: sf consulates
in google to view the map(s).

The scariest, I guess in the marina, was in the 80's the Russian consulate off union st. (ahem, was anyone in the city around that time?) I was probably in a tricycle, but was quite static.

Lots of consulates (German, Polish, Italian, etc.) are located in the residential areas of Pac Heights/the Marina.

Thank you sfist for being the ONLY news outlet in town to get this info..... checked all the traffic sites yesterday afternoon, all totally unaware of this!

By the way... does anyone know why this consulate is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood? Kind of random!
