So, Brock, was there any intended irony in a story about shootings in Oakland in the same post about a bunch of hippies fighting over some empty, vaguely symbolic political statement involving carrot juice, dreadlocks, and dancing? Or am I reading too much into it?

Dudes it's me! I was being sarcastic. This protest is right up there with lawn bowling in terms of actual results. Now there's an idea, "Code Mauve! Lawn Bowlers Against the War!"

The point is they're not "going up against the Bush Administration". This is a pointless protest. I think few posting here are pro-Bush or pro-Iraq war. But that doesn't mean we should take it out on the armed forces. This is a backwards protest, no conviction required. Shit, I saw this on the news last night and Medea Benjamin was doing this Grateful Dead twirly dance in the background that singlehandedly set the movement back two decades. Way to ensure that Berkeley continues to be a political laughingstock. Weeee!

Yeah, fizzandpop, because Code Pink has been so effective up until now. I mean, Speaker Pelosi herself has pledged that the House of Representatives will not move one inch until funding for the war is cut off! Oh, you mean she hasn't?
