(Belatedly) Celebrate Shrove Tuesday! At iHOP!

pancakes.jpg

For what it's worth: "In celebration of National Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., IHOP, one of America's favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, will give away one free short stack of its signature buttermilk pancakes to all guests," according to iHOP.

But where in heaven's name are we to find an iHOP in gastronomically governed San Francisco? Well, there are two iHOPs in SF: one at 200 Beach Street (i.e., at the Wharf, a few blocks away from San Francisco's only In-N-Out) and the other at 2299 Lombard. Who knew? (Okay, we didn't) For more locations, go here.

But if you can't swing by America's favorite pancake chain, why not pick up some aerosol pancake batter? Or how about these whimsical "Jewish pancakes" topped with gravlax, crème fraîche, and caviar? Mmm mm.

'cept it's a week late for Shrove Tuesday. that was last week...

Yeah, pancake day was last week. Plus, you did get paid for this blatent advertising, didn't you?

for this one? no.

not even coupons?

I can just picture it... When Brock isn't writing for SFist, he's at IHOP (the one in the Marina, of course), gorging himself on Rutti Tutti Fresh and Frutti with extra Boysenberry syrup and a bottomless cup of coffee. The nerve!

not even a drop of lingonberry syrup.

I will forever refer to the IHOP on Lombard as HookerHOP thanks to four of the dirtiest, loudest, rudest (and most entertaining) ladies I have ever seen. I'm surprised I was able to eat my hangover breakfast from what I was overhearing.

That booth could have really used some Lysol when they left.

@ fizzandpop

Considering they got it a week late, I wouldn'a paid them either.

that is true
