Kinda serves Marin right for outsourcing critical infrastructure to a private answering service. An alert system notified an off-site, private dispatch service, which should have let an on-call operator know Some minimum-wage privatized flunky (halfway around the world) leaves a voicemail message about the plant alarms going off rather than continuing to dial up the phone tree to the general manager, mayor, etc. I wonder what that message sounded like? "Hello, um, Sewage Agency of Maine, I have a report here that, um, your sewer is flooded with plants. Thank you and havagoodnight."
