  • The Dubs beat the Nets last night, 121-119 in a game featuring a 22-0 run by the Warriors and another furious comeback. The big news, however, is the possibility of Chris Webber saddling up and playing for the Warriors again. For those who don't remember, Nellie Part I was all set up to be a glorious, wonderful time for the Warriors until then-Warrior Chris Webber decided to sulk after Nellie made him cry and forced a trade which eventually led to Nellie quitting and thus sinking the team into their decade long run of epic futility. We personally always thought that the Warriors ineptness should have been referred to as the "Curse of CWebb" but nobody asked us.
  • To start off the 2008 season, the A's will be sent off to Japan to play the Red Sox. To honor the game, MLB got a deal with a sponsor, EMC, to place the company's logo on jerseys, and yes, it's a further encroachment of advertising into the sports landscape. Funny thing, though-- the ad will be placed on the Sox' jerseys but not the A's. In other words, EMC didn't really care if their name got associated with the A's and if you think that's a diss you would be correct. Guess the A's aren’t big in Japan.

He also complained that the government's case was full "unambiguous falsehoods" and "striking inartfulness." At the end of the motion, the lawyer added that the case had a faulty plot and unlikeable characters.
