SF Sketchfest Giveaway: Fresh Faces of Comedy

fresh-faces.jpgThe hilarious Eugene Mirman and Jon Benjamin are hosting SF Sketchfest's "Fresh Faces of Comedy" show on Sunday night at Mezzanine that we can't wait to check out. There will also be a short film contest with Jon Lehr of TBS's 10 Items or Less (he was also Geico's Caveman, whom he looks nothing like, BTW), which had us chuckling aloud the other night. "Five finalists will have their grocery-store themed films showcased and the winner, as determined by the SF Sketchfest founders and Sony Television executives, will receive a cash prize."

We are ecstatic that Tim and Eric will be performing (they really do an awesome show -- great job, guys), along with Bob Odenkirk and Michael Showalter. A comedy-packed night, for sure. Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave is also performing.

And here's our giveaway: The fifth commenter on this post will be the lucky winner of two tickets to Sunday's show. Please tell us who you're most excited to see and why. You must be 21 to enter. If you are the fifth commenter, please check your email. You will be notified by the end of the day tomorrow, if not by 5 p.m. today.

i'm totally excited to see bob odenkirk because he's not jim breuer. i've never gotten a chance to see any of these comedians live (mostly due to budget and scheduling), so any chance would be awesome.

I'm super radly excited. I will use bullet points to explain why because I am so excited.

*I saw Eugene Mirman a year ago in Salt Lake City with about 15 other people and was amazed. He had a power point presentation. A POWER POINT PRESENTATION!

*Jon Benjamin is a regular caller to the Best Show on WFMU, created some of the best voices known, and was an awesome "fuggetabuddy"

*Tim and Eric are persistantly underrated and confusing. The recent Zack galifinakis bit as "The Snuggler!" was incredible

*Bob Odenkirk is shorter in person, and has the incredible quote, "T-shirt sales are up"

*Michael Showalter is the better Michael.

Does this count if I cheat and post this 4 times? You know, because I'm excited?

AM I 5TH YET?

AM I 5TH YET?

Maybe I'm fifth now. Lemme have it, please! i

But is it 5th comment or fifth commentOR?

If it's the latter, I win?

damn, my reason didn't show up. Bob Odenkirk: because i've recorded almost every episode of Mr. Show on VHS when it aired on HBO. Long-time devotee I tells ya. 2nd place: Michael Showalter, cuz he's THE BAXTER.

Tim and Eric Rule. And the Snuggler was amazing. "just snuggle it out."

my tongue hurts.

Nope, someone after you, antfaber.

'course, I'm hoping to bend the rules with my bulletpoints of sheer excitement.

OrangeDrink has a point. The next comment after me (fifth commenter) gets it.

Jericho, I might have sided with you if you had followed the directions and said why you wanted the tickets... So, you still have a chance -- tell us.

comment, commenter, who knows? Lawyers will descend like Gavin's wavy locks at night.

OK, Antfaber is the winner!!! Sorry I was so confusing. Antfaber, I just emailed you.

OMG, I counted wrong. Sorry, guys. Antfaber won on my technicality. If I could turn back time... And if I could give you all tickets... I would.

TGIF.

My heart is still racing. I need to take a nap. And even though this was a competition of the pounce - 18 minutes of laying low I hope weren't spent in vain - I liked the relatable appeals to the tickets. Although again - 18 minutes. Anyone to endure that would have to be an avid fan, right? Or just conveniently unemployed like myself

Unemployed because I don't read instructions.

Aw, I can't believe I missed this. I love Michael Showalter. I even loved the Baxter. I think I am one of three people who saw it. It's a great little movie.

Agirlsgirl -- you haven't missed it! It's not until tomorrow (Sunday) night!
