Someone should design a giantic condom that can be dragged behind a bi-airplane and flown in circles around such religious rallies.

check out the endorsement quotes on their site:

http://www.walkforlifewc.com/saying.htm

gotta love the catholic church support

'we figured out a long time ago that it's much less complicated to just molest boys. they don't get pregnant'

I bet the Berkeley folks from this article are going to be hanging with Alveda today. It just seems SO wrongheaded for the solution to "high rates of abortion among african american women" to be "tell them god will hate them unless they have their baby."

How about fighting for more opportunities for african american communities so folks who get pregnant can actually financially support the kid? How about addressing the issue of imprisonment among black men that leaves women to raise kids alone (or to decide they CAN'T raise them alone)? And in the many years before those long term goals come to pass, how about some fucking sex education to reduce the pregnancies in the first place?

Sorry for the rant. I'll just take myself over to feministing now ;)

Glad I'm going to be nowhere near the march...

"My Mom Aborted Me" would be a good tee shirt.

I have one that says, "Obviously my Mom drank and dropped acid while she was pregnant."

Wow, almost everyone at the Kathy Griffin blog has an image of Kathy Griffin for their avatar. I had no idea that Kathy Griffin fans were so wild about Kathy Griffin.

Those shirts were part of a Planned Parenthood fundraiser, though I guess you could fine someone else selling them now.

I don't understand why people thnik that educating teenagers about how the endocrine system initiates hormonal changes that induce an egg to erupt and semen to be made gets kids all hot and bothered. Yeah, baby, tell me more about FSH, ooh that's so hot! My GnRH is rising!

What about free sex ed, free birth control and free condoms to married couples who do not want kids but financially can't afford prevention?

What about married couples who want them eventually but would be ruined financially if they did right now?

What about- wait, sorry...I'm using logic, that won't work, how silly of me...carry on.

There is a site that sells those shirts, I just can't remember the name, but if you google "I had an abortion t-shirt" it'll come right up.

Too bad I have to miss the rally, I have to instead fight to keep rent control legal.

HEY, WHY ISN'T THAT BEING PUBLICIZED? SAVE RENT CONTROL CONVENTION IS TOMORROW!!!

Oh, and I always like to put the word abortion next to the word bucket. It has such a great ring to it. Abortion bucket. Abortion bucket. It just sounds so right.

"Is there contraceptive against being an ign'nt dumbass?"

That my friend is the billion dollar question. Instead of the X-prize, nobel prize, the Olympics and the Oscars, we should have just one massive competition to find the thing that stops anyone I find retarded from breeding. I thought they'd cracked it with that orchid thing in Moonraker, but sadly I've found out that it's a movie and Drax wasn't an actual real person. Someday the world will be free of anyone I find the slightest bit annoying.

"We give free sex education, free condoms, free birth control," she complained. "That's almost like permission to have free sex, and the higher the rate of sexual activity, the higher the rate of unintended pregnancy."Statistically, this is totally untrue. Cities with sex ed programs have lower teen pregnancy rates; it's the small Bible belt towns like the one in Footloose that have rampant baby-makin' problems.

Is there contraceptive against being an ign'nt dumbass?

King says the best way to reduce abortions among black women is to dissuade more of them from premarital sex.

Ugh, why specify black women rather than saying all women? It's as if she's saying that white women are more careful with their vaginas than black women are. Or, wait, is that what she intended to mean? And is it even inaccurate?

Staying away from the race aspect is hard to do when people like Ms. King suggest weird distinctions between races.

While I don't think that sex education = permission to have sex, it does seem that sex education often focuses on how not to get pregnant or get a venereal disease rather than the psychological and emotional ramifications of sex and intimacy. As if those were the only pitfalls to having a rampant sex life.
