Barack Obama Kicks It in the Mission District Today

aobama%20in%20the%20mission.JPG
Before heading to a more pristine setting in Atherton, Barack Obama was in the Mission today at the Women's Building, stumping for votes before California's Feb. 5 primary. Over plastic cups of water, he met with four Dr. Laura-unapproved single mothers--two of them staunch Obama supporters, two "on the fence"--and we're loving the one on the left, school teacher Kara Daillak, 38. (Ditch the kid, and let's go get smashed in 'loin tonight.)

The son of a single-parent home himself, Obama chatted about his plan "to provide working families with tax cuts--to reduce the costs of child care and dependent care;" rhetoric about getting behind the rhetoric; and believing that the children are, in fact, the future.

After speaking for an hour or so, the man who might be called "Mr. President" by this time next year, hightailed it to a presumably opulent fundraiser in Atherton, the "California’s wealthiest ZIP code." Good thinking. No word yet as to who got to take home the lovely sprays of flowers.

President Obama has a "c" in his first name.

You know, like "Brock", just with the extra syllable.

This might seem pedantic and I may be mistaken, but, "the man who might be called "Mr. President-Elect" by this time next year"...I believe Inauguration Day 2009 is January 20th. :)

Looks like they're segregating the dykes and the squares.

Ooops, just saw the news. Nevermind!

There's nothing a child-free voter likes to hear more of than yet further tax breaks for breeders.
