Vandalism Report Card: Recurring Neo-Nazi Flair on Stillman
Well, this was unnerving.
We came across these, um, public art pieces while walking down Stillman Street. Shot earlier this evening, the paint was fresh yet gooey. If we had to guess, one to two days old, maybe? What these images lack in whimsical mischief--like last November's bout of graffiti that marred a Los Gatos church, which somehow made Bay Area headlines--they make up for in fear and fright.
Anyway, we're curious: what exactly does "Ø.F.C." mean? According to neighbors in the area, this acronym, along with the classic swastika, have made appearances on the stairwell walls of residential apartment buildings on Stillman Street over the last six months, but they're also stumped as to the meaning of "Ø.F.C."
But wait, there's more: for even more Neo-Naziesque hate signage in SOMA, including a misguided tribute to Vacaville, follow the jump.
If any readers out there have any info on "Ø.F.C.," please let us know. We're simply dying to know what it means.

This MySpace profile might be at the top of the pile in terms of investigation. The Irish Pride brass knuckles were a nice touch -- certainly a way to get the point across.
I'm not saying this individual was involved, but it seems as though he might be distantly related, either by crew or by movement.

a closer look at the link unearthed by gumshoe cior above offers up not just a first but a last name as well: zach mckenna. or, as the gritty vacaville hustler prefers, "zach mother fuckin mckenna."
hubris is capable of so swiftly subduing simple smarts in young men. in a matter of hours, a few teens allowed themselves to be easily and publicly linked to racist-tinged graffiti. damn.
If you take a moment to look at all these kids it becomes clear that they're just stupid and not racist. the kid that said 'white power' on Mckenna's page is latino and has several minority artists on his page as well as all these other kids. all the other kids have black and latino rappers refernced on their pages as well, so if one of them is putting swastikas all over SOMA he's just doing it to be an asshole and not out of any real neonazi sentiments.

Obviously these kids are stupid, using the swastika and white power stuff to rebel and get attention. Maybe it's better to have some serious hacker fun with them rather than puff them up into dangerous Neo-Nazis who are killing all of us in the name of Hitler.
Publishing their graffiti all over the internets may not be the best way to handle this...

It's kind of funny that the people who said "white power" have turned out to be among the weakest specimens of their race.
"Hacker fun" will only amuse the privileged and elite few on the Webs--a chortle or two at best. Publishing the above "art" will, at the very least, alert the residents of Eastern SOMA--many black residents--about what's going on in their neighborhood.

Even assuming that's true, there should be some serious repercussions for the hate-paint. It doesn't matter whether the neonazi sentiment is real or not, the kids deserve an ass kicking.
also, semantics and inflated libertarianesque arguments about free speech aside, this is, i believe, technically a considered a hate crime.

Tagging a building can be considered a hate crime. It depends on the tagger(s) motivation when acting against the victim(s).
More typically with grafitti, it would involve something like spray painting the symbol x on the house of the first y family to move into a traditionally z neighborhood for the purpose of intimidating the y family.
The cops could investigate this incident in SOMA "as a hate crime" just as the SFPD investigated the tiger attack "as a felony". This way they can collect evidence without appearing to be jumping to conclusions.
You could safely call this a "hate-related incident."
Has anyone tried to contact these fools yet? Whether he/they did it or not (and I suspect that some of their associates did, judging by the numerous Vacaville/Ø.F.C. connections out there on MySpace), I'd love to see Brock try to get in contact with them. Or the SFPD!!!

If the swastika had been sprayed on a temple, there would be no doubt.
Spraying something like "kill fags" doesn't have to be on the side of a gay community center to make it hateful. I believe the same applies to the swastika.
Contacting them will only alert them that people are on to them and they'll close ranks.
I hope the SFPD actually are aware of them and are following these leads. Mariconsoy, do we know this for a fact? I hope so. 8-)
Good point about not contacting them. I stand corrected. As of now, the main fool's MySpace page is still up. Hopefully he's out ditching class someone where and not able to hide his page anytime soon.

This is all assuming that Ø.F.C. is something unique to this particular small group of idiots - it could be something related to the larger white power movement or even just the local white supremacy group(s). I'm not saying there's no chance that they did it, but they might just be the only ones stupid enough to use that abbreviation on their MySpace pages.

im from vacaville myself and, everytime we have gone up to these kids they just run off.
they do not stand for anything.. one of them got a swazzi tatted on his chest and not too long ago got it covered up for whatever reson.
