SFist Tonight
- The Rod's Three-Year Anniversary: Has it been three years already? Oh my. Anyway, help Bus Station John as his gaggle of alterna-queer fans celebrate the birthday of this club night, which has spawned many imitators over the last few years. The music is late 70's/early 80's retro-homo rarities; the scene is Converse shoes, angular haircuts, and cologne-free; and the time of your life is tonight. (Although we secretly hope Castro clones will show up en masse, sparking a most spectacular gay rumble.)
Goes from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. at Deco Lounge; $5.
- The New Mastersounds: "Pale English blokes with soul," we're told. On the One opens for the soulful Brits.
Show starts at 9 p.m. at the Independent; $15.
- Dark Side of the Moonshine: A bluegrass interpretation of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," featuring Poor Man's Whiskey and special guests Nat Keefe and Aaron Redner (from Hot Buttered Rum) and James Nash (from the Waybacks) dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz.
The stoner music starts at 9 p.m. at Great American Music Hall; $15.
