Oh No, Ed Jew!: Lights Off

gonefishing.jpg

As of noon today, the District 4 seat formerly occupied by Ed Jew is now empty, and the Sunset has no representation on the Board of Supervisors. Quick, everyone, now's the time to put a toxic waste dump on 26th and Wawona! (We just like saying the word "Wawona" is all.)

Former acting District 4 supervisor Carmen Chu is still trying to decide if she wants the seat through November or not, and while she ruminates, all of her staff was required to turn in their office keys and parking passes since the office is now closed.

Gavin Newsom says Chu would be the clear frontrunner for the seat if she wants it, but hasn't said if anyone else is under consideration. For what it's worth, he has no deadline for appointing someone to the seat -- it apparently took Dianne Feinstein 6 weeks to appoint Harry Britt to Harvey Milk's seat after his 1978 assassination (though to be fair, probably some of that delay was due to the fact that Dianne Feinstein herself had only just been appointed the mayor at the same time.)

I hear Ms. Chu respectfully declined to remain serving as D4 supervisor.

If that's true, that's a damn shame.

Teh Chronic is now reporting that Carmen Chu has been sworn in as Ed Jew's permanent replacement.

Have you been to 26th & Wawona? It already is a toxic waste dump and Jew couldn't have cared less. That's the closed part of Wawona adjacent to Stern Grove. It's the Parkside's most popular place for teens to get drunk, ignite pet-scaring fireworks and smash bottles. If there were tigers there, they would undoubtedly be mercilessly taunted.

The last time that area was cleaned up was when Fiona Ma was in office and complained to. Ah the good old days.

F**k Ed Jew.

"Teh Chronic" is also reporting that the Sunset District is on the eastern shores of San Francisco. Morons.

Yeah, that's sorta unfortunate. I guess all the copyreaders took off early to go snowboarding or something.

she didn't show at gavin's party. not a good sign.

I am thrilled to learn that Carmen Chu is going to stay on board. I believe the Board badly needs some members versed in the budget - the costs and consequences of every new program and set aside. The pie is only so big - new slices mean taking away from other slices.

On another point, how many extra bodies are working at the office in City Hall so that somebody is scraping Supervisor Chu's name off the door within hours? I love to hear of improved efficiencies, but please tell me there isn't one person in charge of painting and scraping names off doors who works full-time for the City and County of San Francisco.

Why don't we call this guy Tapioca Ed anymore? Is it because some overly sensitive and misguided person thought it was racist? I think we should bring the moniker back. I mean, it's no worse than calling someone by another food-related adjective, like milquetoast.
