KRON 4 for Sale?

darya%20folsom.jpg

Compelling television's loss is the bargain bin's gain. KRON 4 is up for sale. Again. Amid a "high level of interest," it seems, Young Broadcasting plans on possibly peddling the network to the highest bidder. KRON 4, once the golden child as the Bay Area's NBC affiliate, was sold eight years ago and turned into an independent station. After seeing much of the KRON 4 news team jump ship - like Pete Wilson (RIP), Wendy Tokuda, and wet dream-inducing Ross Palumbo - the place was renovated into the Fox News Corp's MyNetwork TV. Ta-da. (Really, the station could have saved itself if they had planned a local reality show on the lives of crystal meth-infused trannies. We're not kidding.)

Today, it is now known as the station where many of us watch Dr. Phil and his glazed wife, Robin.

But don't take our word for it. Do any of you watch KRON 4? Any favorites? Henry's Garden? Bay Area Backroads? Verbal smackdowns between Jan Wahl and Quentin Tarantino?

I watch Kron 4 for all my local coverage, period.

Watching Gary Radnich get under Pam Moore's skin every night is also a nice plus.

i must admit that i am a staunch pam moore fan.

Hire Pam Grier, then we'll talk.

Someone call the morgue!

My Network TV will die soon as well... actually it's barely running on meth.

My favorite thing about KRON is watching Gary Radnich turn a deeper shade of red with each passing day.

Once upon a time KRON used to produce a lot of local programming, including kids' programs. KTVU used to as well. It was part of that whole "serve the public that owns the airwaves" thing that was popular back in the day.

I'm sure it'll get bought by the Hearsts or some other lame chain boring company that'll make the station suck even more. Yay.

Oh dear ... this would be a sad loss. It is the only San Francisco-feeling station (despite a ABC 7 and maybe others, I don't know, being based here in the City).

We like Daria!

We buy our news by the cubic yard.

They simply have more quantity of news than any other station. Quality meh, but if you want to hear Darya Folsom babble on about the future of Britney Spears or Henry Tannenbaum appearing live from some carpet outlet in Sonoma then it's your station.

I hope that the people who own 92.7 FM buy the station.

Then we'd have a 24x7 disco dance TV station.

Think of the newscasters in Nancy Sinatra go-go boots, or dazed on Winehouse dust while trying to stand up in front of the weather map...

F Gary Radnich and his deformed hand!

daria is adorable. i could watch her all day, especially in hd.

Darya Folsom = fap! fap! fap!

What the fish? What's going to happen to Mac and Mutley? Man, I'm gonna miss Gary Radnich going "off topic" on a nightly basis. He must be a riot when the cameras are off or otherwise he wouldn't still be there. And Darya - has there been anyone on TV who's been hotter for longer than she has? She seriously gets better with age.
