It's Baaaackkk....

Yes, by popular demand, San Francisco Film Society's SF360 FILM + CLUB will once again bring you the one, the only, "Trapped in a Closet" sing-along, the awesomest sing-along this side of the Buffy "Once More With Feeling" sing-along (sing it everyone: "Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes/They've got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses...") The show will be Friday, January 25, at 7:00 pm at Mezzanine.

For those who don't know, Kelly's "Trapped in a Closet" is the War and Peace, the Hamlet, the Point Break of hip-hoperia involving sex, adultery, murder, pies, and midgets. Among many other things. It could be considered either a work of mad genius or a work of sheer madness. Either way, it's just one of the most insane things to ever be done anyone in music.

Besides the sing-along, there will showings of other R. Kelly videos that don't include underage minors, a “Trapped in a Closet” remake done by a high school student, and a claymation Santa-themed version called "Trapped in the Clauset". Not shown, probably for fear of being sued by nasty evil lawyers, is the "South Park" version of "Trapped in a Closet.

And, hey, for you fans of "the Wire", Omar-- well Michael K. Williams-- plays the cop in the video. And no, he doesn't play a cop who has to live by a code.

Here are the deets:

Doors open at Mezzanine at 7:00 pm, program starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $8 at the door or $5 if reserved in advance by emailing info@sf360.org. Must be 21+ to attend.
