Tiger Attack Update: Mourning Carlos Sousa Jr.

Tiger attack victim, 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr., was mourned last night at the Five Wounds Portuguese National Church in San Jose by hundreds of loved ones.

His altar was decorated with a flowers, including Raiders logo. It seems Sousa was an Oakland Raiders fan, reportedly wearing a Marcus Allen Raiders jersey the day he was killed at SF Zoo. According to the Gate, some of Carlos' "friends showed up at the funeral wearing 'In Memory of Carlos Sousa Jr.' T-shirts emblazoned with his photo and the messages, 'Sunrise 9-26-1990. Sundown 12-25-2007. Rest in Paradise.'" (Hey, he was a Libra! Very nice.)

For more information on vigils, donations, and more for Carlos' family, visit his memorial page.

No word yet as to whether or not either of the Dhaliwal brothers paid their respects to their friend last night. Given the media surrounding their current case and what's at stake, probably not.

Update: Paul Dhaliwal and Kulbir Dhaliwal made cameo appearances at the funeral, "escorted by one of their attorneys," it seems! Smart move, kids. Smart move.

I too am Mouning Carlos.
with my slingshot.

Open coffin?

I all can think of is, "6 Feet Under" where they would show the behind the scenes mortuary work in brutal detail.

Stitching back heads and arms that had been blown off. Phony plastic putty skin to make the corpse look pretty.

I'll bet people who were there at the funeral had the same morbid thoughts I'm having. Where are the hidden bite marks?

I'm going to vomit.

That poor family. Christmas will never be the same for them.

Ok, that whole printing t-shirts with your dead friend's picture thing? Creeps me the hell out. And I live in the Bayview, so I see it a lot.

one of the news channels said that 1000 people showed up. that is ridiculous! i take it the entire school figured this was a great excuse to get out of school for a day.

doubt any of them knew him.

lame!

They were there this morning for the funeral. Along with one of their lawyers...

100 bucks says their lawyer made them go to this thing. i doubt they gave 2 shits about this kid, as their actions so loudly speak to. you'd think that geragos would have told them to iron their fucking shirts too.

jesus!

As the kids say nowadays, suckafree: ita

Let's see any of YOU make an earlier public appearance after you get your ass chewed by a ferocious beast, watch your friend get shredded to death right in front of you, get locked out of the safety of the zoo cafe for half an hour while you & your brother are bleeding & dying, & get doped up on morphine and vicodin while the hospital tries to stich you up. Would you then try to be chipper chatty cathys & talk to reporters, to mourning family members, or to the cops, while you're on heavy duty pain meds and in surreal traumatic shock? Get real. Shame on all of you for being such brainless bigots.

I like the matching outfits the Brothers D are wearing. Somebody made a special trip to Target!

Hiring Mark Geragos is not usually what innocent traumatized victims do.
