Window Plummets from 555 California Street, Kills No One

Kearny Street (at California) was closed for over an hour this afternoon after a window came off of the former Bank of America building, falling to the ground from the 38th floor. No one, it seems, was injured from any falling glass. According to an SFist tipster:
This morning at about 10:30 window fell out of the Bank of America building at 555 California. It landed near the plaza next to the banker's heart on the Kearny and California side. Not sure which floor it fell from, but it ricocheted off a window in my office on the 31st floor. Don't think anyone was hurt...
The story was later confirmed by the Gate, who say that the "window will remain boarded up until the high winds and rain pass because the window must be replaced from the outside." From the outside? How faint-worthy.
Star of such '70s classics as Dirty Harry and The Towering Inferno, the skyscraper is the second tallest in San Francisco, standing erect at a staggering 52 floors. Impressive, indeed.

That's amazing nobody got killed. All these new glass-clad skyscrapers are going to get severely tested the next time we have a strong earthquake. The buildings are built to survive (or rock) with earthquakes, but windows are likely to pop out... and fall to the streets & sidewalks.
I wouldn't want to be anywhere downtown when that happens.
Does it not seem suspicious that only one window blew out? Engineering studies show that the statistical probability of only one window blowing out in a 50 mph wind to be 253,407 to 1 against. C'mon people, do not believe everything the main stream media spoon feeds you.
