So, it's the eleventh hour and you've decided against crushing up a couple of Ambiens into a mug of fume blanc and calling it a year. Instead, you've turned that frown upside down, choosing to see what's happening tonight on New Year's Eve 2008. Good for you. And to help you out, here are some last-minute events for each neighborhood in the San Francisco. Just follow links for more info; they will provide you with more in-depth details.

And remember, we care about you guys, so remember to drink plenty and drink often tonight.

  • Mission: Gold Rush! New Year's Eve at the Lexington Club (It's like The L Word, only dirtier and even more dramatic.)
  • Hayes Valley: New Year's Eve Super Funtabulous Dance Party (At the Rickshaw Stop, with Bat Makumba, Forro Brazuca, and DJ Vanka)
  • Union Square/Chinatown: Comedy on the Square (featuring Brent Weinbach, Michael Meehan, Lynn Ruth Miller, and Tony Sparks)
  • Richmond: The Mermen & the Shitones (Live music in the Outer Richmond at the Beach Chalet Brewery.)
  • SOMA: Bootie's NYE Party (Over at DNA Lounge, featuring mash-up sounds and 18-and-over tail.)
  • Castro: Sandra Berndard (Live at the Castro Theatre, "There must've been dust on those mints," etc., etc.)
  • Sunset: DJ Smackdown at the Riptide (DJs Haphazard and Pacifica Brian battle it out by the fire.)
  • For more events, visit Laughing Squid (whose Squid List we shamelessly pilfered. Thanks, Scott!) or SF Weekly, or SFBG.
