My idea of what happened. They taunted the tiger knowing the tiger is piss off. They see the tiger walking back and forth pissed. They leave the area not know the tiger will jump out. Tiger somehow jumpo over that 12 feet wall and smell them out and attack them. Tiger goes, what the hell I got those 2 bastard im out attack another one. Total people attack equal 3. hahaaa... crazy idea but this was probably what happen. Those 2 guys probably sueing just to get money but they know what they did.

Remember that you were a kid once and taunted animals at zoos before you climbed up on your pedestals. Yes indeed, I was a kid once. A kid who taunted chimps at the Oakland Zoo in the fourth or fifth grade and was taken into the ranger's office almost before we started, staying until the teacher came and picked us up.

Excuse me, yl, but I most certainly did NOT taunt animals in the zoo when I was a kid. Nor did my brother. Nor does my son. Some kids are taught to respect and love animals. You should not make blanket assumptions. Not every kid is a rotten little bastard. And it's could "not" care less, by the way.

I wish people would stop referring to these three guys as "boys" or "kids". Two of them were 19 (or 18, depending on reports) and 23, which by law makes them adults. I suppose that the 17 year old could be a considered a "boy" or "kid", though at that age, don't most teens prefer "young man"? "Boys will be boys" or simply being male are not legitimate excuses for bad behavior. Since I have never taunted an animal, at a zoo or otherwise, I guess I will stay comfortably perched on my pedestal. I did once tell off a classmate for taunting a gorilla during a high school field trip to the zoo. Damn, I wish that gorilla would have nailed that classmate with the feces it was trying to throw across the moat.

Honestly, I could care less if they taunted the tigers or not. The boys were being, well, boys - and the tiger was being a tiger. The fault lies on those in charge of proper zoo procedures and making sure the animals do not escape from their enclosures. Remember that you were a kid once and taunted animals at zoos before you climbed up on your pedestals.

BTW- if it is shown that the two did taunt the kitty, are they to be charged with manslaughter for the death of their friend? What about animal cruelty charges and death of a member of a nearly extinct species?

The two brothers don't want to talk and tell the truth, because they know the truth will hurt their chances of scamming the zoo for a lot of money! As soon as it comes out that they teased and tormented that poor tiger, they lose their innocent victim/ money grabbing status! It is a shame that these three boys' poor behavior has robbed the world of a rare tiger, will further rob the zoo of money that should take care of the endangered animals, and will possibly rob the entire area of a zoo if it closes down. Humans are truly the most cruel and destructive creature on the face of the earth!

So, the brothers asked no photos be taken of them upon release from SFGH? I hope the media are there in force at all exits, and that good footage is taken. I also hope their house is surrounded by CNN 24x7. Telling each other "not to say anything to anyone" pretty much cinches the "did they taunt" the cat factor for me. And the "is our car OK" remark is a prime example of how selfish and fucked up so many people in their age group are. Me me me. Me me me.
