SFist Cyclist of the Year: Fixie-Riding Andy
There are still a few more days left in 2007, but we're confident we won't see anybody best the bike handling skilz of famous local Andy.
He truly exemplifies the Japanese concept of Jinba-Ittai (人馬一体), the unity, the oneness between rider and horse.
He's not cloistered inside with the Nintendo Wii or the Guitar Hero. No, he's out there in the turning world. His simple message: "Have Fun On Bikes."
And what's wrong with that?
[This space intentionally left blank]

Bzzt. Narrow bars.
No Lycra butt showing.
No helmet.
"And what's wrong with that?" He's on fucking Fell Street. The city has spent millions to keep bikes off Fell street by building the path through the Pandhandle then painting designated bike lines on paralell streets, yet still smurfbags like him insist on riding on "the freeway". Ready, aim, fire. Fixy-riding smurfhead with his silly little play life.
before anymore of you PC Yuppie SUV drivers post up some more BS... let me just say..
2 WHEELS 4 LIFE!
GO ANDY!
How about us PC Yuppie pedestrians?
C'mon people, let's keep it smurfy. You should come here to praise Andy, not to bury him.
It's Oak Street, BTW. Similar to Fell, but much, much easier to cycle upon.
Stay smooth.
Oh Fizz, you sound bitter about your station in life. Don't worry, you'll get pie in the sky when you die.
Chin up, soldier.
And yes, our man should be rocking a helmet but perhaps it was stolen recently and he's on his way to purchase a new one at Mojo?
Oh fizzy poppy, don't you know that there is actually a bike lane on Fell Street? Kind of blows your theory about city spending millions trying to get bikes off of Fell (or Oak). Instead the city is trying to improve bicycle conditions on many streets, including arterials. And you know why? It is just to antagonize people like you!!!
I fully support any daring cyclists, Wii players. Very much so.
