Phooey. I'm glad my power didn't go out (being on the other side of Geary) but I'm bummed I missed the light show. Then again, it seems I slept through the whole thing so I probably would've missed it anyway...

43rd and 44th avenues are correct. Cross-street is Anza. PG&E crews were still out there when I left my home at 9:30AM. Power was restored at 4:30AM

Yup, it sho was dark. And boring. And cold. And we natives may be startled by a breeze, but we laugh when the very soil beneath us rises and falls. And of course the power always comes back on at four in the morning. I'm at Balboa and La Playa and saw the lightning.

Oh, and the green is probably because the lightning struck copper. Copper burns green, and lightning actually strikes from the ground up, so it would suck the green into the sky (in a manner of speaking).

This was pretty eerie. I was driving around there around midnight last night and the whole sector was dark. "Looks like a blackout," I said to my companion. "They never call the cops out like this when the lights go out in MY neighborhood." Seriously, it was like they were looking for a prime tasing candidate for blocks and blocks. I never did get down to the Zoo to see if there was any midnight paparazzi to ogle.
